Gay Solo Dad & Rabbi: My Story
In this talk, Alter will share how he came to get much of what he has wanted, but along a path that seemed simultaneously wide open and repeatedly walled off. A Jewishly committed kid in the 80s, being gay seemed unimaginable. Being gay and becoming a rabbi seemed unachievable. Being single and becoming a father seemed impossible. This is the story of how Rabbi Alter got from there to here, with a few insights along the way.
