Endangered Species Conservation

Leading experts estimate that more than 40,000 species are considered “threatened” and more than 9,000 species are “critically endangered.” Learn about endangered species from across the world to right here in our Wisconsin backyard. Auriana Donaldson, conservation programs coordinator for the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, will explain how conservation status for species is determined, which species are most threatened and how the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, in partnership with the Milwaukee County Zoo, supports endangered species conservation.
