Elizabeth Emery, Professor of World Languages and Cultures, Montclair State University will be giving a free public talk about her recent book Reframing Japonisme: Women and the Asian Art Market in Nineteenth-Century France, 1853-1914 (Bloomsbury Visual Arts, 2020) and her digital humanities project with the National Institute (INHA) in Paris, “Connoisseurs, Collectors and Dealers of Asian Art in France, 1700-1939”.
