On Tuesday, September 30, 2015, Linda Brazeau (Director, UWM Art Collection and Galleries) and Kate Negri (Academic Department Associate) attended the 2015 Milwaukee Film Festival. They watched the film Almost There at the Times Cinema in Wauwatosa.
On September 11th, Visiting Assistant Professor Sarah Schaefer presented a talk titled “God in the Machine: Magic Lantern Slides and Modern Religious Pedagogy” at Duke University in Durham, NC.
On Wednesday, September 16th, Visiting Assistant Professor Sarah Schaefer’s class, ARTHIST 365: History of Photography, viewed several photographs from the UWM Art Collection in the UWM Art History Gallery.
Associate Professor Tanya Tiffany will be giving a lecture, “Making the Master: Diego Velázquez’s Early Paintings and the Culture of 17th-Century Seville” at the Milwaukee Art Museum on Thursday, October 8, at 6:15 PM.
Associate Professor Elena Gorfinkel will be giving an invited talk at the symposium “Humorous Disruptions: Laughter and Technologies in Feminist Film and Media” at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
On Monday, September 14th, Visiting Assistant Professor Sarah Schaefer’s graduate colloquium, ARTHIST 760: Modern Print Culture: Objects and Audiences, had the chance to view prints from the UWM Art Collection.
