On Wednesday, September 16th, Visiting Assistant Professor Sarah Schaefer’s class, ARTHIST 365: History of Photography, viewed several photographs from the UWM Art Collection in the UWM Art History Gallery. Works on view included an image of the Empire State Building by iconic photographer Edward Steichen, a Mexican landscape by Brett Weston (son of renowned photographer Edward Weston), and a scene of Robert Kennedy’s funeral by Milwaukee photographer George Koshollek. For their first writing assignment of the semester, students will each produce a formal analysis of one of these photographs.
