On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, the UWM Art History Gallery hosted Art Exposé. Art Exposé is a monthly gallery talk that exhibits a selected object from the UWM Art Collection on the second Tuesday of every month from 1-2 PM.
The 2014 Hoey Prize winner, Emily Cornish, accepted the award at the reading of her paper, “Luminism: Shedding Light on a a Contested Iteration of the American Landscape” on Monday, May 11, 2015.
On Tuesday, May, 4, Associate Professor Richard Leson’s colloquium, ARTHIST 704: Introduction to Art Museum Studies II, visited Jessica Meuninck-Ganger (Assistant Professor, Print and Narrative Forms Area Head) in the Peck School of the Arts to learn the mechanics of Rauschenberg’s approach to printing.
Kenneth Bendiner, UWM Professor Emeritus of Art History, returned to UWM on Thursday, April 30, 2015, to give a lecture on Rauschenberg in the UWM Art History Gallery.
This week Assistant Professor Kay Wells’ ARTHIST 102: Renaissance to Modern Art and Architecture discussion sections visited the UWM Art History Gallery to view works from the UWM Art Collection.
In keeping with the spirit of Robert Rauschenberg’s environmental advocacy and to mark the conclusion of the exhibition Global Matters: Rauschenberg Print Media 1968-1975, graduate students in Associate Professor Richard Leson’s ARTHIST 704: Introduction to Art Museum Studies II, the department’s biennial colloquium on Art Museum Studies, visited Growing Power in west Milwaukee.
