Art History Graduate Student Presentations VI

Art History Graduate Students Mary Strupp, Jeremy Schrupp, Katrina Russell, and Rebecca Kidd presented on four objects from the UWM Art Collection in Associate Professor Tanya Tiffany’s Proseminar course Tuesday, November 7th. This week the grad students examined Andre Derain’s painting Seated Nude, Thomas Hart Benton’s lithograph Plowing It Under, Mary Cassatt’s print The Manicure, and John Ahlhauser’s photograph Marilyn Monroe. Students were asked to conduct independent research on an object related to weekly course readings and present on their findings to the class. This data will be used by UWMAC staff to add to the object files and strengthen collection research. Stay tuned for more presentation information coming soon!
