A Day with Rauschenberg!

On Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8, graduate students from ARTHIST 704: Introduction to Art Museum Studies II, welcomed kindergarten students from Maryland Avenue Montessori School to the UWM Art History Gallery to view Global Matters: Rauschenberg Print Media 1968-1975.  In addition to seeing the exhibition, the students participated in an image scavenger hunt in the gallery and created their own collages in a similar fashion to Robert Rauschenberg’s prints.  Pounce the Panther, UWM’s mascot, greeted the students as they exited the buses and the Graduate School provided snacks.

The exhibition, catalogue, and accompanying programs have been made possible, in part, through the generosity of the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation’s Shuffle program, UWM Friends of Art History, UWM Year of the Humanities Committee, the Electa Quinney Institute for American Indian Education, UWM Department of History, UWM English Department, and the UWM Center for International Education.
