Aschenbrenner Lectures at the Milwaukee Art Museum

Michael Aschenbrenner (Senior Lecturer and MA almunus) presented three lectures to the Milwaukee Art Museum docents throughout the Spring 2015 semester.  He spoke on topics tied to the art museum’s permanent collection including the Baroque, Academic Classicism & Realism and German Romanticism.  He is shown here lecturing on Caspar David Friedrich’s “Abbey in the Oak Forest” and Carl Spitzweg’s “The Bookworm”.  The lecture series was intended to prepare docents for guiding tours after the re-installation of the MAM’s permanent collection in November 2015 and was organized by Amy Kirschke, Director of Adult, Docent & School Programs for the museum.
