Wisconsin Science Olympiad – State Competition

April 10, 2015 - April 11, 2015

The Wisconsin Science Olympiad (WSO) is the state event of the Science Olympiad that will be held on April 10-11, 2015 at UWM.  Teams of high school students from around the state compete in regional tournaments under the guidance of their coaches (teachers, parents or local volunteers) in a variety of events in STEM in early this year.  The winners of these tournaments will then travel to UWM to compete in a state tournament on April 11th, 2015.  Approximately 800-1000 high school students interested in STEM will be present at the competition on April 11th arriving on April 10th for events including a presentation by Lee Marek at 3:30 pm and culminating with an opening ceremony Friday evening in the Wisconsin Room of the Union at 6 pm with a live performance by “Unclear on the Concept”.  Following the competition events on Saturday, the Science Olympiad closes with an Awards Ceremony at 4 pm.  The 2015 Wisconsin Science Olympiad is presented by Northwestern Mutual.  Additional sponsors include the Army ROTC, SC Johnson, and Graef.  More information is available at uwm.edu/wso
