Two films by Charles Burnett

Born in Mississippi and raised in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, Burnett is an independent filmmaker whose work has been praised for its portrayal of the African-American experience. The Union Cinema is showing his first feature film, Killer of Sheep on 35mm, as well as My Brother’s Wedding.
Killer of Sheep: Friday, Sept 13 at 8:15pm and Saturday, Sept 14 at 5:00pm.
My Brother’s Wedding screens: Friday, Sept 13 at 6pm and Saturday, Sept 14 at 7:15pm.
