Centers & Services

The Division of Student Affairs and Dean of Students Office are invested in making sure that every student enrolled at UWM is academically and personally successful. Through the operation of over twenty collective academic, cultural, and other support centers such as the LGBT, Women’s and Veterans Resource centers, the University Legal Clinic and Norris Health Center, students can access support tailored to their specific needs. Cultural Centers

Black Student Cultural Center
Facilitates the recruitment, retention and growth of students of African descent by promoting academic excellence and personal achievements.

American Indian Student Center
Assists and supports UWM American Indian students and helps make our community stronger.

Southeast Asian American Student Center
Provides culturally sensitive support services essential for Southeast Asian American students to achieve their educational goals.

Roberto Hernandez Center (RHC)
Dedicated to serving the Latinx/a/o students by providing academic services, engaging in outreach, and supporting applied research pertinent to Latinxs/as/os.

Student Association Safety Committee (SASC)
A committee of the Student Association (Student Government) addressing issues of safety on campus.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Resource Center (LGBTRC)
Strives to create a welcoming campus community by providing resources, support, and more for students across the spectrums of gender and sexuality.

Women’s Resource Center (WRC)
Partners with on and off-campus community resources and organizations to coordinate education and empowering programming focused on education, empowerment, and advocacy.

Military & Veterans Resource Center (MAVRC)
Serves as the first stop for all military, veteran students, dependents, alumni, and transitioning service members offering support in transitioning to college, building community, and providing resources.

Religious Centers
Supports and advances the exploration and expression of spirituality, religious life, faith-traditions, values and philosophies of life within the context of higher education.


Comprehensive site for travel services include taking public transportation, driving, or biking to campus.

Norris Health Center
On-campus health and mental health services providing treatment and assisting students to understand their health needs and make healthy choices.

Career Planning and Resource Center (CPaRC)
Works directly with students supporting career planning through career-related education, internships, jobs, and more.

Center for Community Based Learning, Leadership & Research
Provides opportunities for students through volunteerism, service-learning, and community-based work-study options.

Center for International Education (CIE)
Supports international education initiatives including International Admissions, Study Abroad, Global Studies, and more.

Children’s Learning Center
Committed to supporting children and their parents through playing, interacting and communicating by providing a supportive and safe space for your family to grow socially and emotionally.

Equity/Diversity Services, Office of (EDS)
Dedicated to preventing discrimination through programs, investigating complaints, and fostering an environment and culture that appreciates all members of the UWM community.

Fostering Success at UWM
Provides guidance and support to foster students to support their educational success.

Dean of Students Office (DOS)
Fosters a learning environment that prepares students for life, career, and the responsibilities of citizenship in a diverse and complex community by helping them navigate challenges and supporting their success.

Inclusive Excellence Center (IEC)
Facilitates a welcoming and inviting community of support for UWM students focusing on culture and diversity.

Neighborhood Housing
Offers rental and neighborhood-based programs and services to UWM students at no cost.

Student Support Services (SSS)
Provides services to low-income, first generation and/or disabled college students through academic advising, personal and career counseling, financial aid assistance, and more.

University Legal Clinic (ULC)
Assists UWM students with various legal issues such as landlord/tenant, underage drinking, traffic citations, and more.

Sustainability, Office of
Helps to manage campus resources to reduce the environmental impact of UWM through conservation, recycling, alternative transportation, education, outreach, and more.
