Graduate Student Laura Sims has been working hard in the UWM Art History Gallery all week painting walls, moving pedestals, and installing art for her upcoming exhibition Reflections on a Collection: Revisiting the UWM Icons Fifty Years Late

On Tuesday, December 16, 2014, Linda Brazeau (Director, UWM Art Collection and Galleries), Christa Story (Curator, UWM Art Collection), and Katherine Murrell (Art History Lecturer) welcomed UWM Art Collection donors Jim and Beth Arient and Bob Vogele to the UWM Art History Gallery to see Extraordinary and Ordinary: Folk Art from the UWM Art Collection.

On December 3 and December 8, 2014, Visiting Assistant Professor Matthew Francis Rarey went from professor to student in ARTHIST 371: African Art.

On Tuesday, December 9, 2014, the UWM Art History Gallery hosted Art Exposé.

On Thursday, December 4, 2014, MA graduate Jeff Jara gave a gallery talk in the UWM Art History Gallery in conjunction with Katherine Murrell’s “Extraordinary and Ordinary: Folk Art from the UWM Art Collection.”

This week teaching assistants Anna Kupiecki and Kelsey McCarey Soya brought Derek Counts’ ARTHIST 101: Ancient to Medieval Art and Architecture students to the UWM Art History Gallery to view icons and reliquaries from the Charles Bolles Rogers Collection.
