Professor Wells Receives SECAC Excellence Award

Prof. Kay Wells has been awarded The SECAC Award for Excellence in Scholarly Research and Publication for her book, Weaving Modernism: Postwar Tapestry between Paris and New York, published by Yale University Press in 2019. The award was announced December 12, 2020 at SECAC’s Annual Conference, hosted virtually this year by Virginia Commonwealth University [https://secac.secure-platform.com/a/page/awards].

SECAC (formerly the Southeastern College Art Conference) is a national professional organization that promotes the study and practice of visual arts in higher education [https://secacart.org/page/History]. Prof. Wells is the 27th recipient of the Award for Excellence in Scholarly Research and Publication, which began in 1998. The Award is given “for outstanding research in a recent publication,” and it has recognized a distinguished group of innovative works of art historical scholarship [https://secacart.org/page/ResearchPublication].
