Prof. Kay Wells has been awarded The SECAC Award for Excellence in Scholarly Research and Publication for her book, Weaving Modernism: Postwar Tapestry between Paris and New York, published by Yale University Press in 2019. SECAC (formerly the Southeastern College Art Conference) is a national professional organization that promotes the study and practice of visual arts in higher education [https://secacart.org/page/History]. Prof. Wells is the 27th recipient of the Award for Excellence in Scholarly Research and Publication, which began in 1998. The Award is given “for outstanding research in a recent publication,” and it has recognized a distinguished group of innovative works of art historical scholarship [https://secacart.org/page/ResearchPublication].
