History of Modern Design Explores Green Furniture from the Chipstone Foundation

Assistant Professor Kay Wells’s History of Modern Design class (ARTHIST 368) explored green furniture from the Chipstone Foundation on Wednesday, March 24th. Chipstone’s Chief Curator Sarah Carter visited to discuss issues around sustainable materials, recycling, and the carbon footprints associated with manufacturing and transport. Students enjoyed object based learning by touching, lifting, and sitting on the chairs to examine their construction and comfort.
