Teacher assisting student

We know from surveys and focus groups that many UWM students are not aware of all of the resources available to them, and that some others find the array of potential resources confusing. One answer is to improve how we communicate our offerings, and we are working on that. But having a faculty member or staff person point them explicitly to just the right office or to the person who can solve their problem can be very meaningful and impactful.

Take a moment to remind yourself of all of the resources available to our students (see below). If you’re teaching, post relevant resource links on your Canvas site, or take five minutes to go through them as a class. When a student is struggling with an issue, send them a link to the relevant web page, or work with them to make a needed appointment; these small extra steps can dramatically increase the chances the student will follow through.
