Service Learning in the Office of Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability works with students from all areas of campus.  Volunteer service learning projects can be designed to fit almost any student’s need.  Students have created campus bicycle education programs, coordinated garden produce pickups with The Gathering, and supported the hoop house composting operation.

Center for Community-Based Learning, Leadership, and Research (CCBLR)

Service Learning, as part of class credit, can be set up through CCBLR.  Every semester there is a standing request for 5-15 student volunteers to help in the campus composting operation.  Students are especially needed to haul food waste, but also to maintain the compost piles and test the results.
