CLACS-Digital Humanities Fellows 2019
The UWM Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) and UWM Libraries Digital Collections are collaborating on a project to highlight unique holdings of the UWM Libraries, particularly those of the American Geographical Society Library (AGSL) and Special Collections.
CLACS-DH Fellows will propose specific Library resources related to Latin America or the Caribbean for digitization (if needed) and will create an instructional or public engagement resource in the DH Lab to bring the selection to a wider audience. (Public engagement resources are those that connect the university to the wider community. Examples might include online exhibits or resources for K-12 classrooms.)
See: https://uwm.edu/lib-collections/for currently available digital collections on Latin America and the Caribbean. Final resources will be shared on the DH Lab website and linked to CLACS.
Award Amount: Up to two $1,000 awards available, each payable as S&E in two installments. We request that complete digitization and project proposals, including work plan, timeline, examples, and where applicable, sample digital resources, be completed no later than August 1, 2019 (50% award payment). Completed projects will be requested by August 1, 2020 (50% award payment).
Eligibility: UWM faculty, teaching academic staff (including ad hoc lecturers), and graduate teaching assistants are eligible for the awards.
