Bunny Wailer, the last surviving member of the musical group The Wailers, died earlier this week at the age of 73. The group helped establish and popularize reggae music not only in their home country of Jamaica but also around the world. Lee and Low Books has a teacher guide to a poetry book on the life of Bob Marley, the most internationally renowned member of the group, entitled I and I. The book discusses Marley’s life and musical career as influenced by his identity as a biracial man, the injustices he experienced and observed, and his community. The interest level for this book is listed as grades 3-8, and the reading level is listed as grades 4-5.
