Sustainable by Design: re-shaping the human landscape of Latin American cities

This institute examines innovative projects in Latin America to create more livable, equitable and sustainable urban spaces.  It explores initiatives which confront the challenges of climate change, urban growth, and marginality with participatory and community-building programs.  Institute participants will have the opportunity to consider how to integrate examples of green and “smart city” urban planning into their classroom curriculum about contemporary Latin America.

Cost: 
$90 in-service teachers / $30 Education students
(includes breakfasts, lunches, and materials). 
Dorm housing is available for $105/night (single) or $73/night (shared).
