October 9, 2020  |  News & Events, Sad News, Timely Announcements

Colleagues,

I am sending sad news, shared with me by Finance and Administrative Affairs, of the passing of two members of our UWM community.

Pamela Thomas
Pamela Thomas, a long-time Environmental Services Custodian/Building Service Worker, passed away September 7, 2020.  Pam had been working at UWM since 1996 and was currently part of our crew cleaning at the Golda Meir Library.  Throughout her long career here Pam also serviced a number of other campus buildings.  She had a very out-going personality and took great pride in servicing the areas that were assigned to her.  Pam made many friends with staff, students, and her fellow workers, and will be greatly missed by all.

For additional information, please see Pam’s online obituary. Our condolences to Pam’s family and friends.

Kelly Jeglum
Kelly Jeglum, Network Engineer, of University IT Services passed away on October 6, 2020.

Kelly obtained his undergrad degree from UW-Whitewater and his master’s from UW- Milwaukee. He believed strongly in the value of education, which led him to his career at UW-Milwaukee, where he worked as a network engineer since September 1992. He believed it was his responsibility to support the students as they pursued their education. In his free time, Kelly enjoyed traveling, reading (mostly the purpose of learning) and listening to music. He was a strong, loving, giving person. He encouraged others to pursue their dreams. Family was always first.

For additional information, please see Kelly’s obituary online.  Our condolences to Kelly’s family and to the many others whose lives he touched.

Take care,

Johannes
