Dear Colleagues,

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Kaushal Chari as Dean of the Lubar School of Business, effective as of June, 2019. Dr. Kaushal Chari comes to UWM from the University of South Florida’s Muma College of Business, where he has served as the associate dean of research and professional programs. Previously he served as the chair of the Information Systems & Decision Sciences Department from 2006-2013.  A recipient of the Community Champion for Entrepreneurship award, Dr. Chari has a strong record of new program development and engagement with regional employers for workforce development.

His research program encompasses software engineering, business intelligence and distributed systems. Dr. Chari obtained a B.Tech in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, followed by an MBA and PhD in Business Administration (with a focus on management information systems) from the University of Iowa.

I congratulate the Search and Screen Committee, chaired by John Reisel, for its outstanding work, and I thank Dean Kanti Prasad for his excellent leadership of the School.
