Américas Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature

Sponsored by the national Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs (CLASP), the Américas Award recognizes U.S. published children’s and young adult books that authentically and engagingly portray Latin America, the Caribbean, or Latinos in the United States. CLACS worked with CLASP to create the award, and coordinated the Américas between 1993 and 2011. The award is currently run by Tulane University and Vanderbilt University.
