Maryse Condé Wins Nobel Prize for Literature

Guadeloupean author Maryse Condé was announced to be the winner of the New Academy’s “alternative” Nobel Prize for Literature. Condé is the author of over 20 books, and has previously won the Grand prix littéraire de la Femme (1986), and Prix de L’Académie francaise (1988), and is often taught by LACUSL Faculty Member Sarah Davies Cordova.
