CLACS Course Development Grants Awarded

Three CLACS Course Development grants were recently awarded to:

Susana Antunes, Assistant Professor of Portuguese: “Understanding Brazil Through Film” (Port 325 or as Port 360 Luso-Brazilian Culture Topic/Subtopic)

Kim Hernandez, Senior Lecturer for LACUSL/History/Comparative Ethnic Studies:  “On the Road with Che: Touring 1950s Latin America” (HIST 400 Topics in Latin American and Caribbean History)

Krislyn World Heil, Senior Lecturer, Dance: ““Salsa, Merengue, Bachata” (new Dance course number)

CLACS awards support development of new or revised Latin American/Caribbean courses (undergraduate or graduate) that clearly augment existing departmental course offerings.  We encourage proposals that respond to campus goals and priorities and those that will encourage student enrollment.  These courses also contribute to CLACS’ strength as a Title VI National Resource Center, with funding from the U.S. Department of Education.
