The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is pleased to launch a Brazil Initiative for WI and the Upper Midwest. The Brazil Initiative is designed to serve as a regional network to promote scholarship, teaching and public engagement related to Brazilian Studies.

As part of the inaugural year of the Brazil Initiative, CLACS will convene a workshop on the UWM campus from February 15-16, 2019. The workshop is designed to serve as a space for area scholars and educators to present research, works in progress, discuss late-breaking development, and exchange information on teaching resources.

Title and Abstract Submissions (200 words) due November 26, 2018.

Limited Travel Support in the range of $150-250 will be available for those traveling from out of town. Apply with estimated travel budget when submitting workshop abstracts. Applicants who submit requests for support by November 26 will receive priority consideration.
