68 Voices, 68 Hearts

The Mexican government recognizes 68 distinct official languages of the state. To celebrate these languages, a project was begun in 2013 by director Gabriela Badillo, intended to produce a video per language that told a traditional story in its native tongue. At this point, a little over half of the intended videos have been produced, and are available on the linked website for public viewing. English and other language subtitles are offered for each video, and there are also translated transcripts to better incorporate these stories into the classroom. Coloring pages associated with the stories can also be found on this website, and are free to use. The link to the website can be found here.
