Admissions

Applications may be submitted up to one year in advance of any semester. The Lubar College of Business offers suggested priority application deadlines as indicated below; they may be subject to change. We will continue to accept applications until the start of the term, if space is available in classes.

  • Summer Term: April 15
  • Fall Term: July 15
  • Spring Term: Nov. 15

To apply for an MBA degree from Lubar College, you must meet the following admissions requirements. We will carefully consider all elements in your application file as we determine if you will be a good fit for our online MBA program. However, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

Completion of an Undergraduate Degree

Applicants must hold a degree from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution in the United States or from a recognized institution in a foreign country. Many 3-year bachelor’s degrees are accepted as equivalent to the U.S. 4-year bachelor’s degree for purposes of admission.

Cumulative GPA of 2.75

A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent measure on a grading system that does not use a 4.0 scale. Those whose undergraduate GPA is below 2.75 must provide further documentation.

English Proficiency for International Students

All UWM Graduate School applicants are required to demonstrate a suitable level of proficiency in the English language.

Official GMAT & GRE Scores

  • A minimum GMAT score of 500 total (quantitative score of 36, verbal score of 17 for international students)
  • A minimum GRE score of 305 total (quantitative score of 149, verbal score of 142 for international students)
  • GMAT/GRE waiver policy

How to Apply

Submit the following to complete your UWM Graduate School application:

  • Transcripts from every institution of higher learning attended. Unofficial transcripts can be uploaded with your application, but official transcripts are required upon acceptance. Email your transcripts directly to the Graduate School
  • Official GMAT or GRE scores directly from the testing agency.
    • GMAT Code: 1896
    • GRE Code: Institution Code 1473, Dept. Code 4204
  • An updated resume showcasing your professional experience.
  • A one- to two-page statement of purpose explaining why you want to earn your degree at the Lubar College of Business and your post-graduation plans.
    • One or two letters of recommendation are preferred but are not required.
  • Pay the $75 application fee.

Additional admissions requirements for international students:

  • Submit all foreign institutional transcripts from any institution of higher learning attended.
  • Send TOEFL scores directly from ETS (required for applicants whose native language is not English or who have not earned a degree in the United States).

Note: Foundation courses are not required for entry into the program, and courses can be waived with prior coursework with a grade of C-minus or better. Course Schedule

The online MBA program is primarily scheduled in eight-week increments, allowing you to complete the program in as little as one year or at the pace that is most convenient for you.

Accelerated One-Year Scheduling: Enroll in 4-5 courses in the fall and spring semesters, and the remainder in the summer.

Self-Paced Scheduling: Enroll in one or more courses each semester to complete your program at your desired pace.
