Congratulations to Biological Sciences PhD Student Ling Yi on being awarded the 2019-2020 Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute Scholarship!

The NMDSI scholarships are aimed to encourage students with a demonstrated interest in Data Science to continue to take classes and pursue a career in this area.

Ling’s research on big brown bats uses large genomic, geospatial, and environmental datasets to gain integrative insights into bat ecology and evolution, with implications for managing zoonotic disease transmission. Great work, Ling!
