Reception Gallery Talk by ARTHIST 704: Introduction to Art Museum Studies II students, Wednesday, April 22 at 5:30 PM

The UWM Department of Art History’s biennial Museum Studies Seminar presents Global Matters: Rauschenberg Print Media 1968-1975, a selection of works from the UWM Art Collection by Robert Rauschenberg (1925-2008). These prints, posters, and “cardbirds” embody the artist’s larger, global concerns, among them conservation of the natural world. Set to open on Earth Day 2015, Global Matters examines these works in light of Rauschenberg’s interests in environmentalism.

The exhibition, catalogue, and accompanying programs have been made possible, in part, through the generosity of the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation’s Shuffle program, UWM Friends of Art History, UWM Year of the Humanities Committee, the Electa Quinney Institute for American Indian Education, UWM Department of History, UWM English Department, and the UWM Center for International Education.
