Colorscapes: Marko Spalatin 1970 – 2001: A thesis exhibition by Jackie Murphy

March 4, 2016 - March 24, 2016

Free

Colorscapes showcases the chronological stages of internationally acclaimed artist Marko Spalatin’s work while demonstrating his exceptional skill in creating geometric forms through color. The exhibition explores Spalatin’s contributions to modernism through “colorscapes,” illusionistic color landscapes that seem to invite the viewer to journey into dynamic spatial environments through entirely abstract means. Colorscapes highlights Spalatin’s placement within the larger modernist traditions through his use of color, light, and space to create a magnetic play between abstraction and illusion.
