March 4, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

The Archaeological Institute of America-Milwaukee Society presents “Between the Steppe and the Sea: Scythians, Taurians, and Greeks in Crimea.”  This talk, given by Adam Rabinowitz of the Department of Classics at the University of Texas, will discuss the demographic and cultural transformations that took place in Crimea between the 7th and 4th centuries BC.  These transformations saw some of the most spectacular works of Greek metalsmiths deposited in the kurgan burials of Scythian princes.

This lecture is free and open to the public!  For more information, visit: https://aia-milwaukee.uwm.edu/lectures/#talk4.
