WELCOME to Youth Protection and Compliance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
I am Dana A. Kaleta, the Pre-College Coordinator and Youth Compliance Specialist at UWM. I serve as the campus PreCollege Liaison to UW System and Chair of Minors Council.
The Minors Council at UWM actively ensures that campus policy and procedures related to youth protection and compliance are current and observed. We do this through publication of the UWM Youth Programs & Activities Handbook, which outlines campus expectations, policy, standards, conduct, staffing, and reporting obligations for all entities engaged in activities for minors at UWM.
At UWM, we are committed to the protection of youth and to creating safe spaces to conduct our dynamic youth-serving and precollege programs. We continue to invoke best practices to deliver quality programming consistent with our overarching campus community values.
