UWM is again partnering with a team from North Dakota State University to continue taking steps towards a gender equitable climate at UWM. We will hold three listening sessions for women to talk about the climate in their departments or units on April 25 and 26. The sessions will be facilitated by Dr. Christi McGeorge, of North Dakota State, and all information will be kept confidential. The sessions will also be attended by members of the UWM Women’s Advisory Board. The aggregated information will be used as part of the gender equity plans developed by male advocates. They will also help inform a climate study that will be sent campus wide in May, in preparation for an ADVANCE grant proposal to NSF.

Please note: Due to space limitations, the listening sessions are limited to 20 participants on Thursday afternoon’s session, and 30 participants on Thursday morning’s and Friday morning’s sessions. We will be sending a climate survey out within the month, so women who cannot attend the listening sessions will still have an opportunity to provide their perspectives about UWM’s and their department’s climates.

We will hold another Male Allies Training session on April 25, from 9-11 a.m. (4th Floor Library Conference Center). This will be identical to the session held last fall, for those who were not able to attend.
