I share with you sad news about the passing of two Emeriti Professors.

– Word has reached me that our emeritus colleague, George Stagakis, died on September 15. He taught Ancient Greek and Roman History at UWM for nearly 30 years, and was honored on several occasions with the Distinguished Teacher Award. Visitation will be held today at Schmidt and Bartelt funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m.  His obituary is online.

– Carlton Beck, Emeritus Professor of Education, passed away in July. In addition to being a valued contributor to UWM’s academic community, he also worked in community outreach programs in areas of mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence and corrections for almost 35 years.  His obituary is online.
