Dear Colleagues,

As we enter December and make the last push to final exams and the holidays, I want to announce postings for two positions in the Provost’s Office.

The Vice Provost for Academic Affairs will provide institutional support for and oversight of academic affairs activities, including academics, assessment, and accreditation. This role works closely with shared governance, academic deans, the Office of Research, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the Higher Learning Commission, and other areas across the university and UW System to advance UWM’s mission.

The Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs will lead and support the institution’s practices and programs that promote faculty and academic staff development and career success. The role oversees and provides support regarding faculty and academic staff personnel matters, faculty promotion and tenure, faculty and academic staff professional development, compliance reporting, and grievances and investigations.

Also, if you are interested in self-nominating to serve on one of the Search and Screen (S&S) committees, please contact Mark Srite (msrite@uwm.edu). Mark will be working with my office and shared governance to create the S&S teams.

Also, I want to thank Suzanne Boyd, Stephen Schmid, and Mark Srite for their excellent contributions in their interim roles during this transition. Dev Venugopalan left big shoes to fill, and they are doing excellent work to keep things moving smoothly.
