Dear colleagues,

The School of Architecture and Urban Planning and the Peck School of the Arts have been working collaboratively to implement recommendations from UWM’s 2030 Action Plan, which includes, as a part of the UWM School and College Realignment, the two units coming together in the College of the Arts and Architecture, effective on July 1, 2023.

I am asking for nominations (including self-nominations) for a faculty member, at the rank of associate or full professor, to serve as Interim Dean of the College of the Arts and Architecture for the fiscal year 2023-24. A search for the permanent dean is anticipated to be held in the Fall of 2023 with a start date leading into Fall 2024. The Interim Dean will be responsible for budgetary oversight, student success, equity, research and scholarly activity, personnel management, community outreach, and donor development.

If you self-nominate or accept a nomination, please email me with your CV and a short narrative on your leadership style including what your priorities will be if appointed. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, November 22 at 4:30 p.m.  A committee made up of representatives from the Peck School of the Arts, the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and others outside these schools will review applications and then will advise me on a selection.
