The Week:

Monday

I have several meetings with deans and direct reports, plus the Chancellor’s Cabinet, and the Chancellor and I have a board meeting of the Clinical Science Translational Institute of Southeastern Wisconsin. In the evening I’m attending the Commencement Honors Convocation ceremony at the Zelazo Center. After that, I will join a number of us to serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and snacks to our students in the library. We normally stay until about midnight (…and the library is packed with studying students!)

Tuesday

The Chancellor and I have our next budget-update meeting with the Division of Finance and Administrative Affairs (meeting no 15). I have a joint meeting with the Chancellor and VC Robin Van Harpen and a number of meetings with deans and direct reports. I also have a meeting with evaluators of UWM’s Office of Charter Schools and an evening reception for the Johnson Controls, Inc. Endowed Professor Deyang Qu.

Wednesday

We have a half-day meeting of the Budget Planning Task Force to review FY 16 budget lapse proposals. At noon, there is the WisPolitics event where Chancellor Mark Mone and UW-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank will discuss the state budget’s effect on funding and university autonomy. In the afternoon, I have a space-planning meeting. I’m attending the M3 Initiative panel discussion (see below, under Announcements from the UWM Libraries) and I’m making remarks at the 2015 Lavender Graduation Ceremony in the UWM Union Wisconsin Room.

Thursday

Again, a day of meetings with deans and direct reports. The Academic Leadership Council meets; agenda items include integrated bachelor’s/master’s degree programs and retention plan. The Chancellor and I have our next budget-update meeting with the UWM Libraries. In the evening, we have the Military and Veteran’s Academic Recognition Ceremony.

Friday

Budget Communication Task Force meets and I have a meeting with the Chancellor and School of Education Dean Alan Shoho on the M3 Initiative and Bradley Technology and Trade High School. I will also be at the College of Health Sciences for a meeting.

Saturday-Sunday

I’m participating in the Commencement ceremonies on Sunday and also attending the reception for 2015 Honorary Degree recipients and a School of Information Studies Recognition ceremony for 2015 graduates.
