Human service professions run the gamut from social work to criminal justice. But all the individuals working within these fields have one thing in common – they all strive to help people. Their goal is to meet human needs by focusing on prevention, remediation of problems and improving the quality of life of service populations.
UWM’s School of Continuing Education offers a variety of programs including family mediation, trauma counseling, AODA clinical supervision, multicultural practice and overview, solution-focused brief therapy training and general courses. Plus, you can obtain certificates in trauma counseling, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and family mediation. When you sign up for courses, you’re increasing your value in the workplace and gaining relevant skills that you can apply right now on the job.
