The Physics Department at UW-Milwaukee was not built in a day – it is thanks to the dedication and hard work of all of our faculty, whether retired or no longer with us, that we get to be here today, sharing innovation and the joy of physics with students, community members, and the world at large. Isaac Newton once wrote in a letter, “If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants,”; quite the fitting quote for when we recognize the achievements of those who helped build and nurture the department over the years.
