WordPress is an online open source website creation tool written in PHP. It was chosen by UWM because it is the easiest and most powerful website content management system available. WordPress began as a blogging tool and later evolved into the most widely used web tool for education and business websites.

In this manual, you will gain some basic understanding of how WordPress has been set-up for use within the College. We will touch upon the subject of themes (templates) and within which theme your particular website was created. Also to be covered are the parts or sections of your website, touching mostly upon the homepage for now. Those parts are the Header, the Hero, Navigation, Metasliders, and News and Events. And, of course, you will learn how to edit your content, add News and Events, as well as basic photo manipulation and processing, and how to upload images.
