Templates

The L&S Web Identity contains a variety of templates to help you customize your site. This guide explains those templates in detail and where/when they should be used.

Standard Content Areas

All templates for the L&S Web Identity have the following four areas that will be present regardless of which template is chosen.

Header

The header is the top part of the UWM Web branding in yellow. This standard is set by the UWM Division of University Relations and Communications team and is not to be changed.

Main Navigation

Top level navigation is defined in the ‘Appearance > Menus’ area of the WordPress dashboard interface. Similar to the header, this standard is set by the UWM Division of University Relations and Communications team and is not to be changed.

Content

The area labeled ‘Content’ on the templates pulls in the current page or posts content.

Footer

The footer area automatically brings in your site name logotype that is present in the header as well. Additional navigation and social media icons can be added in this area as well.
