The English Language Academy offers two separate programs.

The Intensive English Program (IEP) is a pre-academic English proficiency program that prepares students for university study and for professional life. The IEP offers two full semesters and one shorter summer session. The IEP offers approximately 21 hours of English language instruction per week. New applicants have the option to start at the beginning, month 2, or midterm of the semester. The program is open to any student who has completed high school. You can learn more about admissions to the Intensive English Program here.

The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program is for students already admitted to UWM for academic study in a degree program. EAP courses are taken for credit alongside courses in the student’s degree program. You can learn more about admissions to UWM for academic study here.
