UWM Saukville Field Station Hiring

The UWM Saukville Field Station is hiring a Maintenance Assistant.

Job Description:

The Maintenance Assistant will assist the UWM Saukville Field Station Building and Grounds Superintendent with general facilities maintenance and repair, grounds and State Natural Area maintenance, and janitorial work at the 350-acre UWM Field Station natural area located in Saukville, Wisconsin, 30 miles north of Milwaukee. Nine buildings, grounds, and outdoor natural areas are maintained by Field Station Staff. The work includes mowing grass, classroom and restroom cleaning, control of invasive plants, trail clearing, and assistance with miscellaneous projects.

Up to 40 hours per week is available, but part-time work is also available. Scheduling is flexible.

Required Skills:

A suitable hire will have experience with a variety of types of physical labor, and common maintenance and landscaping tools. They should have the ability to perform physical labor, a fondness for outdoor work, and the appreciation of nature. The ability to pass a state-mandated background check, a Wisconsin driver’s license, and dependable transportation to the UWM Saukville Field Station is required.
