UWM Alum, Juan Orjuela, was recently featured in the dvm360 article. The article recognizes 3 individuals who work to positively impact veterinary medicine. Orjuela aims to create a more inclusive and diverse field.
Orjuela studied biology and conservation and environmental sciences at UWM. He graduated in 2017 and is currently a fourth year veterinary student at Ontario Veterinary College, Univeristy of Guelph in Canada. He co-founded the Latinx Veterinary Medical Association (LVMA) in 2020. The LMVA aims to form a community of Latinx excellence in veterinary medicine.
