Postdoctoral Position Available in Gouignard Laboratory

There is a postdoctoral position available in the Gouignard laboratory. Please see the position description and application instructions below:

The Gouignard laboratory in the Department of Biological Sciences, at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, is looking for a motivated postdoctoral scientist to join our group as soon as possible.

Our research interest is to understand at the cellular and molecular levels the co-dependency between cell populations and tissues. Cooperation between cell populations is the hallmark of embryonic development as well as tumor development and cancer spreading.

The postdoctoral candidate is expected to work on a newly funded NIH project aimed at developing Xenopus cell lines. The successful candidate will use embryo injection and animal cap extraction, cell culture, live cell imaging, genomic and proteomic approaches to generate and characterize these cell lines.

Our laboratory is in the Department of Biological Sciences with many groups sharing a highly collaborative developmental and neurobiology program. In addition to top-quality research core facilities, career guidance and professional development training are provided for postdoctoral fellows.

Candidate must possess a PhD in biology/life sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with background in cell biology, biochemistry or stem cell biology. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Interested candidates may send their CV, a short description of relevant expertise and research interests, list of publications and the names of three references to Dr. Nadège Gouignard (gouignar@uwm.edu). Applications will be evaluated as they arrive.
