Dr. Emily Latch Receives USDA Grant for $250k

Dr. Emily Latch, Professor and Ecology, Evolution & Behavior faculty, recently received a $250k grant awarded by the USDA to continue her work on Chronic wasting Disease (CWD) in white-tailed deer. The grant will be use the new genomic tools she developed for white-tailed dee management, with over half a million dollars in recent federal funding, to determine whether Minnesota’s current CWD-management strategy of culling removes related individuals from the population and reduces CWD-transmission as predicted.
