In an article titled “Examining Regeneration Through a Fish’s Eye,” UWM reports that “Ava Udvadia studies the genetics that allow fish to heal optic nerve damage. Her research may one day change how we treat human eye injuries.”

According to Ava, “If we can identify from among these transcription factors which ones are different in the response in mammals and fish, now we’re at a place to define what we need to tweak in mammals to get them to switch this program on.” Click here to read the full article.
