By choosing to use Alternative Testing accommodations, students sign this e-form, agreeing to the following terms and expectations:

  • Students acknowledge that unauthorized materials are not permitted in the testing environment without instructor approval. (Note: cell phones, purses, backpacks, and other personal items must be left in a secure area of the ARC main office or designated area at Waukesha and Washington County.)
  • Students acknowledge that ARC testing environments may be monitored by surveillance cameras and/or proctors. ARC adheres to the UWM Code of Conduct any disruptive behavior will be handled in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
  • Students acknowledge that observed incidences of dishonesty or cheating will result in immediate confiscation of exam materials, that observed actions are documented, and the incident reported to the instructor.

Accommodation Procedure

Once a student is approved for Alternative Testing accommodations and has signed the Testing e-form, the accommodation procedure is as follows:

  • In ARConnect, the student selects “alternative testing” as an accommodation for each class.
  • The instructor receives a “Notification of Accommodation” letter that includes a link to a testing agreement.
  • The instructor responds and/or completes the testing agreement.
  • In ARConnect, the student schedules each test and for each test selects specific testing accommodations to be used.

Guidelines for Scheduling Regular Exams and Quizzes

  • Students agree to schedule all tests during the semester at least one (1) full week before the test date.
  • Students acknowledge that most tests during the semester need to be completed during ARC’s office hours.  
  • Students agree to schedule tests at the course’s designated start time unless the testing accommodation(s) necessitate the test to begin at a different date and/or time due to course overlap.
  • Students acknowledge that late arrival will not extend the ending time of the test beyond the scheduled end time.
  • Students acknowledge that they are expected to arrive on time for a test and that if they arrive more than 15 minutes late, they will not be able to take the test in ARC.

Guidelines for Scheduling Final Exams and Exams During Finals Week

  • Students agree to schedule final exams and exams during finals week at least ten (10) working days before the last day of class.
  • Students acknowledge that final exams and exams during finals week need to be completed during ARC’s office hours. 
  • Students agree to schedule final exams and exams during finals week in accordance with ARC’s block schedule start time of 8:00 A.M. or 1:00 P.M. and the course’s designated final exam time.
  • Students acknowledge that late arrival will not extend the ending time of the final exam beyond the scheduled end time.
  • Students acknowledge that they are expected to arrive on time for a final exam and that if they arrive more than 15 minutes late, they will not be able to take the final exam in ARC.
