Current City: Kenosha, WI

Concentration: Japanese to English Translation

Now I’m: a freelance translator in the entertainment media field, contracted with Nozomi Entertainment/Right Stuf Anime and Seven Seas Entertainment

I came to Translation & Interpreting Studies because:
I’ve always loved language, media, and pop culture. I’ve wanted to share that passion with others and become a part of something I’ve loved since childhood.

What career advice do you have for current or potential TIS students?
It’s never too late to pick up other skills and areas of specialization. Keep on learning and improving. Find areas that you can really hone in on, especially ones that interest you personally, ones that you feel that you’re a good fit for, and ones where you see opportunity. In my case, I picked up video editing, subtitling, and other technical skills. There are all kinds of ways to keep growing and learning, so don’t ever give up!
